Information
What about repairing tires?
Tires are manufactured specifically to vehicle function and size, and it may be better to repair a tire than replace it with the wrong size and type. If the damage can be clearly identified, and if the tires are still serviceable otherwise, repairing a small hole or cut can save a driver time and money.
How do I know when a repair is adequate?
Tires can become a major expense, especially if you need to replace all of them at once. There are times when a repair instead of a replacement will suffice, at least in the short term. Also, tire rotation, wheel balancing and alignment can make a vehicle safer, improve fuel performance, and help prolong tire life.
What are my options?
The vehicle can be taken to a tire store or auto repair shop. There are automotive websites that offer free DIY instructions, while others advertise repair services and/or sell a wide variety of tire repair kits and supplies.
