(86 Towncar): after flushing the radiator ( twice in 8 mo) there is still "Gunk" in the coolant. Q: would it hurt the cooling system to poor in some "Lime-A-Way" and run a few days and then flush that out of the system?

i think the question is,
i think the question is, where is all the gunk comming from?
I think more or less from the
I think more or less from the rotton Heater Core ( which has a hole - hence the steam fogging up my windshield all year long ( and ooooh, that smell,,damn!!! ) and is no doubtless plugged up as well. {,,that IS on the schedule to be changed out, but, ya know,,$$$$$$!!) Probably a little residue from the radiator itself as well, which is why I want to really "FLUSH" it out with the Lime-A-Way" but worried that it might hurt other parts in the cooling system. Wasn't going to leave it in there forever, but I don't think the "Prestone" Flush Treatments really get all that stuff out of the system. (Comments?) Also possible the Mechanic did a crappy job & didn't completely flush the entire system.
sounds like it needs a power
sounds like it needs a power flush, but not too many shops do power flushes any more. i'd call a rad. shop and get a price. the heater core will have to be replaced frist, or at lease by passed for the flush. in most cases the brown sluge is freeze plugs rusting.
What type of antifreeze do
What type of antifreeze do you use? Has there been periods when you didn't use antifreeze?
