how do i replace the rear brakes on a 1999 honda accord?

are they shoes or pads?

are they shoes or pads? support the rear wheels and remove both tires - if drums / shoes remove both drums but leave one set complete to use as reference - if calipers / pads to squeeze the cylinder in i think it turns - open the master cylinder cover to allow for fluid expansion and remove some of as you turn / squeeze the caliper cylinder in - check the rotors or drums for grooves and have them turned if needed. install new brakes - if shoes you will need to turn the brake adjuster in to let the drum slide on - close master cover. pump the pedal to build up pressure and test drive - always good to have a manual for step by step info for your vehicle.
