I bought a van with the hopes of putting a wheelchair lift in it to give myself a little independence. As it turns out there is major rust underneath the van. HOw can I stop the progression of this rust?

it will depend on the amount of metal already rusted off. there is a few metal treatments out there but, are pricey.
your best bet is to ask
your best bet is to ask around for a friendly body guy or someone that will help. look on craigs list. the rust needs to be removed and the metal replaced before you go to the expense of a lift.
