Also, we recently had another reader with the same question on a 2002 XL7 4WD. The reason I mention that is because one of the contributors on this site has the service manual. I will try and get his attention on the matter.
You can also veiw that thread by clicking on "ask the mechanic" at the top of the page. Go to the "browse by brand" box and scroll down to Suzuki.
I'm curious as to why you wish to replace the pump. We may be able to save you some time and money. When you see what the job entails you'll know why I asked. You'll want to be pretty sure the pump has failed.

Many problems in the professional of auto mechanics and repair are misdiagnosed. As a result (collectively) consumers end up spending millions of dollars on parts that are not defective and that never required replacing in the first place. Before you spend your time and money on replacing the water pump in your Suzuki, post how you came to the conclusion that replacing it is necessary?
