Zorro, White smoke is caused

Zorro,

White smoke is caused is by water (and or antifreeze) entering a cylinder, and then the engine is tryin to burn it with the fuel. The white smoke is steam. Head gaskets are the primary gaskets that keep engine coolant from getting into a cylinder. The cylinder is where the fuel and air mixture are compressed and burned. Any amount of coolant that enters a cylinder will produce a white steam that you’ll see comin out of the tailpipe. Check to see if the proper amount of engine coolant (aka antifreeze) is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if the antifreeze has been contaminated the motor oil. You can look at the oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Don’t drive the car if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, because you could do serious internal engine damage. Did the truck overheat recently, and did you continue to drive it while it was overheated? You can buy something called a Block Tester Kit from a quality auto parts store. Use the kit via the enclosed instructions and post the results.
