I'm not geting heat, mechanic told me is not the thermostat, when I turn on the heat, I'm getting cold air.!

could be air in the system,

could be air in the system, does it smoke? is the floor unexplainably wet, puddles under vehicle, could have a leak that let air in. burp the system, undo the cap when engine is cold, then a heater core hose and fill till it comes to the top. if it is already full i would suspect a theromstat malfunction. you could just remove it and fill the block, replace it, then top off the radiator, there pretty cheap tho so I would replace it while its off anyway.
