it could be a few things, bad
it could be a few things, bad plug or wire, gummed up injector, ect..
is there a check engin light on?
no.. check engine light
no.. check engine light doesnt come on.. had to get my catalytic converter replaced the other day, because somethign caused it to melt/ blow a hole in it. muffler guy said i didnt run anything over, and he said theres a possibility that one of the engine coils is messed up.. i just had a tune up done on it last year, and had all the spark plugs replaced.. i've used like 3 bottled of gum out(at seperate times) and still have this problem..
the problem you are having
the problem you are having may have caused the cat. converter to melt, unburnt gas from a misfire will melt the cat's cone.
you'll need to check each cylinder to see if one is not firing, then check that cylinder's plug, wire and coil.
if all check out ok, preform a compression test on that cylinder, it may have a bad valve or valve seat.
ok.. i had a friend tell me
ok.. i had a friend tell me to get dilectric grease, and coat the boots of each coil/ spark plug. he said it sounds like im firing on 3 cylanders and not 4.. the other thing is, this is a pwerful motor.. its a quad 4, which basically means, it runs like a 6 cyl, but on has 4, if u get what im saying..
the quad4 engins had a few
the quad4 engins had a few problems, the biggest being head gasket leaks.
now with the coil over plug cover, you'll need to make up test plug wires to check misfires on each cylinders.
they did have some concerns with the coils on these engins, some times you can see white dusty spots on the coils ind. a bad coil.
you'll have to remove coil cover and remove coil shield to see coils.
