Mercedes ML270 CDI Auto 02 My ESP and BAS light is on. I have not got full power in car. their is no kickdown, Mechanic checked and could not find where brake light switch was on car to replace it as he says this is the problem.

sounds like it's in esp lock,
sounds like it's in esp lock, there is some thing causing this, pos. speed sensor or faulty abs module. you will have to get the diag. codes read to know where to start repair.

Thanks mws919, would you know where the Brake Light Switch wou8ld be located on my car, as according to the Merc garage it is not in usual place and he did a diag on car and it pointed to fault in brake light switch. The mounting bracket is their but no wires to attach it to.Have recently had 2 fuel injectors replaced and 3 seal repair kits, also new kickdown switch, new battery and Catylictic convector replaced.

i chcecked on a few diff. models and they all are on petal lever above booster rod.

Thanks for taking time to check. My car is now in a different garage. They have found the Brake Light Switch, it is built in with the master cylinder, costs a bit more to fix, but hopefully will sort the problem out. I will let you know outcome. You may come up against this problem in the future. thanks once again.
