my 2006 chevy malibu check engine light is going on and off i removed and cleaned my mass air flow sensor and checked my hoses the car stalls when i turn on the a/c this is the first time i have ever had any problem with this car

when its stalling do you hear any belt noise and as for the check engine light places like autozone/adavance auto will scan codes for free this may tell more about whats going on why its stalling etc, then repost those codes here

inspect vacuum hose/connections possible intake leak, with cool engine running spray something like carbcleaner around the intake/gasket area anywhere it could suck air listen for idle to change if you hear it retest the spot a few times then see if its a hose or gasket etc,

Check the vacuum hose to the MAP sensor for cracks or disconnect. What did you clean the Mass Airflow sensor with?
A vacuum leak could cause a misfire, but don't neglect to check the ignition system as well as the fuel injectors.

i went to advanced auto they said i have a miss fire in my # 4 cylinder what is the firing sequence for my engine so i will know which one is my # 4 cylinder

Firing Order is 1-3-4-2 (this is the order inwhich each plug receives a spark from the coil pack.

The cylinder arrangement is #1 cylinder is closest to the front of the engine and they are numbered in order from there to the rear of the engine.

The number four cylinder is the last one nearest the transmission (furthest from the front of the engine)

hey joe sometimes a map sensor code will appear due to low vacuum resulting from a missfire which explains the engine light flashing. how many miles on this car, have you had a tune-up, any other type of maintenance?
