1993 ford ranger 2WD. 2.3 4 cyl. Engine RPM's Race while truck is in motion. Even with the clutch pushed down. As soon as the truck stops the RPMs return to normal

Is the engine revving when the Tachometer is racing up and down?

Check the fuses and/or relays. A loose fuse could cause an intermittent connection and a resultant tachometer fluctuation.

If this trucks has a distributor, check the electrical connectors at the distributor to see if they are making good connections.

Post you results. I'll try to find a wiring diagram which will give me an idea of how the electrical circuit is supposed to work.

This truck has no tachometer.

This truck has no tachometer. And it had ciol packs not a distributor. But the PRMs race until the truck is stopped... Then idles fine...
