i have checked the wires there and the wires from the brake switch they all look fine what does fuse one control is it brake interlock brake lights and hazzrd lights and which fuse controls the dome light cause i replace dimmer switch thought it was that but dome light still stays on could that be plm door switch for dome light is bad and shorting it out i am lost and dont have right fuse diagram for my car

sorry, i entered wrong name on email. check agin
how can fuse one be turn
how can fuse one be turn signals when it blows stop lights quit and wont shift out of park and hazzrds quit but turn signals work signals still work
check each circuit, they may
check each circuit, they may be shorted togather. also check them for shorts to ground, may have pinched wires.
i have looked for a pinched
i have looked for a pinched wire but im not sure where all the circuits are im kinda new to eletrical problems
it's just a matter of tracing
it's just a matter of tracing the right colored wire from light socket throu the harness to the switch on to the fuse box/moduel. if you have a meter with continuity test, you can disconnect the connectors from the sockets and the switch, fuse box or moduel and then test thewires in the harness for continuity to ground. it sounds hard but, it's realy not, just a bit time consuming.
ok thanks for all the info i
ok thanks for all the info i think i understand a little better from all my searching and all ur help i was thinkin it had to do with the interlock thing but it does not work unless the brake lights r lighted up so as soon as i step on the brake the fuse in fuse 1 blows this guy told me to make a tester so that way if it is a short i can still have power to the fuse to find the short he said to take a fuse take plastic off the end sauter or however u spell it a wire to each end of the metal on the fuse the tape it up really good then on other end sautter a socket and bulb and tape it up really good plug it in the fuse i keep blowing then one by one disconnect everyting that is hooked to that fuse when the light goes off thats where the short is at and to test for open circuit i need test light and if i am right the brake lights should run from the battery to the fuse box from the fuse box to the brake switch from the brake switch to the shift enterlock from the shift interlock to the ground so i think i got it now does it sound all right to u i am new to all of this
i have a question if i take
i have a question if i take the bake light switch out and the fuse does not blow is the brake light switch the plm to start with it is brand new but my b/f dad seems to think it is bad cause when we take it out the fuse doesnt blow any helpwould be appricated thanks
if it blows with out pressing
if it blows with out pressing the pedal, yes. if it onlt blows when pressing brake pedal, than no.
ok thanks for the help at
ok thanks for the help at least i know the brake light switch is good then all wires is good nothing else i can find to make it work i am bout to send this taurus to car heaven in the junk yard
lets start over, the only
lets start over, the only problem is that the brake light fuse blows and the shift interlock system quits? is it the brake light fuse or another fuse. better yet, check your email
the brake light fuse blows as
the brake light fuse blows as soon as the brake is touched but like when i first go out and start the car it works for about 5 min and it doesnt blow but then it starts to blow like when the car warms up a little bit i dont understand that either and im not all the way sure about the fuse but i checked wires in trunk and i unplugged the brake lights it still blows i took out the seat in the front drivers side cause everyone says the wires go under there but when i unplug all the wires under the seat from the harness running to the back seat i still have tail lights so where is the brake wires in the middle of the car at r they under the seat or under on the outside of the car cause wires under hood is good wires on brake is good with test light and wire in trunk is good the ones under driver seat looks good also but some where i am missing something cause when i unplug harness there should be no power to the lgihts in the back and they still got power so i dont think those r the right ones
i looked at the diagram u
i looked at the diagram u sent to my email could the pcm be bad cause this problem cause the third brake light goes out also when the fuse blows
the pcm by itself will not
the pcm by itself will not blow a fuse, it has it's own protection.
ok do u know where i can find
ok do u know where i can find out if the brake light wires r inside or outside of the car the ones on the brake light switch go up in the dash it looks like but the ones from like the seat to the trunk im lost cause when we unplug all the harness from under the drivers seat the tail lights still work so there is still power to the back how do i unplug the harness cant find that one like in the middle of the car
ok new info my bf cousin put
ok new info my bf cousin put almuni foil around fuse number one car worked great now our wires r melted so now what do we have to buy a whole new wire harness
