1996 Ford F150, straight 64.9 liter (not a 4x4). About 230,000 miles. My truck will now not get over 60mph with petal to the floor. I checked wires and plugs = good.

Have the catalytic converter
Have the catalytic converter checked at a muffler shop. They can test the exhaust systems back pressure which will tell whether or not the converter is clogged.
