Did the window fall down by
Did the window fall down by itself or did you lower it down and it wont go back up?
Do you hear the motor trying to run?
Do you hear clicking, grinding, humming or anything when you try to put it back up?
Also is this the front or rear window?
You can try jarring the door panel while hoding the up button to see it will knock a little sense into it (no joke this works as a temporary fix on alot of electric motors).
Please post your responses back here. We'll be glad to help.
In addition to what's already
In addition to what's already been posted, open the drivers side door. You'll see a rubber boot going from the bulkhead of the car to the door. You'll see the boot in the area of the hinges. With a fresh single edge blade carefully slit open the boot. If you see a wire or wires that are split or partially split inside the boot you found the problem. You have to run new pierces of wires from inside the car, through the boot and into the door, and finalize the connection inside the door. Don't try to fix any split wires you find inside the boot. The repair won't hold. If you don't find any broken wires inside the boot let us know, and we'll post more tests for you to do.
if you remove the door panel
if you remove the door panel you'll be able to the remove the window motor, raise the windo and reinstall the motor.
Check the operation of the motor, power to the motor and switch operation so that you'll know what the problem is.
Before you remove the motor
Before you remove the motor while you have the panel off you can test it. This can save you the time of removing and replacing a component that is faulty only to remove and replace it again. If you need any help in the testing let us know.
