I have a 2002 Honda Accord 2.3 V Type, when the car is running and stationary, the temperture gauge starts to rise, when the car is moving it drops back to normal, any ideas?

1986 Mazda 323 the battery ran dead and after I put a new Alt and battery in the car still runs like the alt is bad but the car ran great prior to the battery going dead. How can I fix it
