driver side sliding door lock

I have a 2006 Caravan SXT. The lock on the driver side sliding door will not unlock. After removing the interior panel and spending hours inspecting and playing with it with a mirror and work light, I could not find the problem. This car has a system that will not allow the sliding door to open when the fuel gate is open to keep it from hitting the fuel nozzle at the gas station, and I have an idea this system is at fault. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

Felix, The switch is (ELECTRO

Felix,

The switch is (ELECTRO MECHANICAL). By design(FAILURE) is high. The switch is part of the (BODY LOCK). The body lock is the the mechanism that is inside the door. It's the mechanism that you (INSPECTED FOR HOURS) when you removed the interior door panel. You have to remove the (BODY LOCK) from the door to replace the (ELECTRO MECHANICAL) switch. Once you have the body lock out of the door, the (ELECTRO MECHANICAL) switch is the part that has (WIRES) going to it. That is the part that (MUST) be replaced.
