swing by a parts store and have them read the code and then clear it to see if it returns. often the code will go away after 3 or 4 starts if the repair is fixed properly.
thanks jerryh20 had that done recently but the lite came back on. could it be a software problem?
is it the same code? was the adptives cleared after replacing it? shutting the light off will not reset the fuel adptives. let me know. mws919
hey msw919 thanks for replying again. i dont know.
the egr was replaced and not to long after the check engine lite came on again. i dont know what the original code was but now it's p0401 insufficient egr flow i was told by another mech (not the installer) that a gm dealer must reprogram the computer. any help's appreciated
i never had to flash the ecm after replacing an egr valve. most flashes are for updates, and in less it had a light on from new, i donn't see the need for new operating software. the only to test the egr valve, is to turn it on with a scan tool. if it can stumble and stall the engin it's ok. at least for that code. i'll get back to you. mws919
the lite wasn't on from new but probably within a week or less, thanx
