Bigdummy, You failed to
Bigdummy,
You failed to mention if the system is a manual system or an automatic climate control system?
Also when you say there no air flow from the floor vent, does no air flow also mean NO HEAT?
No,it is not climet
No,it is not climet control, just coolder/hotter rotate knob. There is airflow from the defroster but the control is in the(imiage)foot position. All other settings on rotating selector are ok.No air flow from the floor vents anytime!
Bigdummy, Rule out a blend
Bigdummy,
Rule out a blend door issue and post the results.
How do I find the "blend
How do I find the "blend door"or its control modual.I assume it is vacuum controled!Do I need to get to the vacuum lines at the dash control? I have worked on older cars with vacuum controls, but not anything since the 90's.
What you should do is get
What you should do is get hold of the Haynes and Chiltons repair manuals for you car. That's right get both books. These manuals are vehicle specific. That means they are written for you specific car. They are not expensive and having both of them is a worth while investment if you intend to keep your car for a while and do your own repairs. On the other hand and for now if you want to fix this problem you should look for the manuals in a well stocked library where you live. That way you can get your blend door problem fixed and it will cost you nothing for repair manuals. Sounds to me like you are right. The controls are most likely vacuum operated but that doesn't mean they couldn't be electrical or electronically operated. You have to remove some access panels under the dashboard, and get in there with a bright light to see what is going on.
