Hi, i have an 1999 honda prelude sh. lightly touching or taking my foot off the accelerator would make the engine kind of choke or jerk. what do you think i need to repair i think it might need a new fuel pump or filter but im no mechanic!??

You should have the vehicle scanned for codes.

Verify that the Throttle Position (TPS) sensor and the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor connector are not swapped. It is very easy to have these connectors switched. The engine will then hesitate when trying to accelerate.

Spark Plugs -

Worn, faulty, fouled or incorrect spark plugs can cause the engine to misfire, buck or jerk under load.

Spark Plug Wires -

Leaking or high resistance spark plug wires can cause the engine to misfire, buck or jerk under load.

Distributor Cap and Rotor -

Weak or erratic spark output from a faulty distributor cap and rotor can cause the engine to misfire, buck or jerk under load.

Ignition Coil -

Weak or erratic spark output from a faulty ignition coil can cause the engine to misfire, buck or jerk under load.

Overlooked Causes

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) -

Erratic signals from a defective TPS can cause the engine to misfire, buck or jerk under load.
