Disconnect the battery. (for
Disconnect the battery. (for at least two minutes before starting work, in order to give the air bag capacitor time to discharge).
Remove the bolts (screws) which attach the air bag to the steering wheel.
Remove air bag assembly. (remove the wire for the horn by pushing in and twisting the plastic sleeve)
Remove the nut from the center of the steering wheel.
Use a "steering wheel puller" to remove the steering wheel from the column. (the puller can be rented from autozone--you get a full refund when the tool is returned)
To install.
Place the steering wheel in the correct position and push it on by hand as far as you can.
Install and tighten the center nut (which will push the steering wheel on completely).
Install air bag.
Reconnect battery.
