i am haveing a problem with my bmw z3 1.9 lt 1997, my parking light and brake light wont work on the driver side and i have already replaced the bulbs and checked fuses and that is not the problem. anyone know what it might b?

check power at the recepticle

check power at the recepticle - check power to and from switch.

Check the ground wires on

Check the ground wires on both the parking light and brake light. Wiggle the wires at both sockets to check for a loose connection.

check the ground on these sockets by using a test light connected to power. (connect the clip of the test light to a 12v power source and use the use the probing end to touch the ground terminal of the socket. If the ground is good the light will illuminate---If the ground is shorted or open the light will not illuminate)

IMPORTANT
You can use the passenger side light sockets to determine which wires are ground. (do this by probing the socket to find the power wires when the brakes are applied(rear)and headlights on (front and rear). the one without power in any of these situations is the ground wire)
