don't run it til you can
don't run it til you can determine if its a rod bearing. could be a loose torque convertor bolt but you need to get some on hand advise before severe damage is done.
Kdellis, How long have you
Kdellis,
How long have you had the knocking sound?
What's the mileage on the car?
What was the nature of the last routine maintenance or repair that was done to the car?
Have you been changing your oil and filter every 3000 miles?
If yes are you using cheap oil and filters?
Has the transmission fluid and filter screen been replaced recently?
Kdellis, Have you had the oil
Kdellis,
Have you had the oil pressure checked? If so what was it?
I had three mechanics check
I had three mechanics check the car, I changed the oil with good name brand oil but I did not change the transmission fluid and filter. The flywheel may need too be replaced. This I understand is a major under taking.I did not check the oil pressure nor did the three mechanics. I located the oil sending unit,I will change because of the age of the car.
Kdellis, I can appreciate
Kdellis,
I can appreciate your desire to get this problem fixed but can assure you that replacing the sending unit will have no impact on your problem.
Please give us the info that all three mechanics gave you. One at a time please. Thanks.
kdellis, Have broken engine
kdellis,
Have broken engine (and or) transmission mounts been ruled out?
