I have a 2000 Dodge Durango and there's a noise when I drive that sounds like the muffler is out but it's not and I can only hear it while driving and not outside the car. I just got new brakes and still hear it... HELP!

when you are driving does the noise change when taking a curve in the road? if so pos. wheel bearing. when you are driving and let off the gas does the noise deminish a bit and get louder with accleration? if so pos. rearend"ring and pinion" problem. we do a fair amount of both. another cause could be the exhaust grounding on the body/frame. has the tail pipe been backed into some thing or has the bottom of truck been dragged over some thing? let me know. mws919

the exhaust sysem could have a leak. if you find out wear you can most likely repair a crack or hole by soldering. most autoparts stores sell rosin core or some other type of flux solder. flux solder actually cleans the damaged area and prevents corrosion
