I have a 2002 ford expedition with a 5.4 triton v8 and it is misfiring badly. autozone checked it with a computer and said it was cylinder number one. any suggestions? what is the firing order.

As long as the misfire isn't random , you more than likely have a bad coil or plug.
Swap the plug with a known working plug. If the misfire follows the plug, more than likely just a bad plug. If the misfire stays in the same place look further into it.
This vehicle is known for intake leaks. WHile the vehicle is misfiring spray some carb cleaner near the first cylinder. If the vehicle responds to the external fuel, then you have an intake leak.
