I have a 2004 pontiac grand am gt that I just put a brand new battery in. It started right away but when I tried to start it the next morning it wouldn't start. It wants to start but it doesn't. It cranks over but won't start.What else can it be? Thanks.

do you have a check engine light? if its turning over its a fuel or ignition problem.

I just had someone look at it and they put a machine on it and said it was the cam sensor. Is that an expensive repair?guk
cam or crank sensor? the
cam or crank sensor? the computer uses the crank sensor to start the engin and the cam sensor to adjust timming after it is running. the cam sensor can cause a stall but will not stop it from starting. the crank sensor will cause both stall and no start. also depending on how it stalls, the computer can set a cam code when it was the crank sensor that caused the falt., and vise versa. so at this point i would stick with the basics and check spark and fuel wile it is not starting.
