I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee TSI 5.2. My question is my jeep will rotate but not fire and when I put the ignition into run position the gages do not read and it will not start, also it would not even read a code on an OBD II testing tool. whatdoido?

check fuses. if the power
check fuses. if the power train comtrol moduel is not responding, the power, ground and data circuits need to be checked. is there a NO BUS message in the odometer?
didnt know how to use this
didnt know how to use this web site so I answered your question as an answer you will see two new ansers which are mine thank you for your reply I really appreciate your time and expertise msw919.
there was no message other
there was no message other than there was a conection problem and to turn the key off for 10 seconds and the start the process again. after doing this several times it was the same ending result from the tester that there was a connection plroblem. I tested the obd with the testing tool menu and the tester was functioning properly. so I am still at a loss as to why the tester wont code the problem and why my jeep will not start.
there is just the mileage
there is just the mileage showing it is 114000 miles on the jeep. How can I test the power train control module? would the asd relay have any impact on the proper funcion of the gauges, pcm, fuel and ignition function? could the ignition switch or instrument cluster stop the information from getting to the obd tester?
if the asd relay is closing,
if the asd relay is closing, than the pcm is closing it. can you feel it click when a helper truns the key to run? the asd relay powers up every thing eles, ie fuel pump, coil, ect.. you'll have to check power at coil, fuel pump, injectors, to see if the relay is putting power out to them.
what do you mean by the
what do you mean by the helper and where should I here a click at? does the ignition switch and or the instrument cluster have any bearing on why i can get a code read on the obd tester? my idiot light did not come on before the jeep broke down and it continues to not show a malfuntion by the light before I tested with the obd I tried the old school to get a flash by turning the ignition on and off and got no light code either.
find the asd relay in the
find the asd relay in the fuse box, place a finger on it, have somebody turn key on. now do you feel the asd relay click. and yes the cluster can cause a no start. the computer uses a data bus wire to commuicate, it runs all throu the wiring harnesses to diff. type moduels. if his wire is shorted or broken the data line is down and the jep will not start, also you will not be able to talk with scan tool, as scan tool uses the data line.
