does it change when brakes
does it change when brakes are applyed?
when i give it gas or let off
when i give it gas or let off gas it makes a squealing noise but when i give it constant gas to maintain speed it gets quiet-er. but brakes didn't affect it. however, i thought it was the brakes at first and now the emergency brake dont work

i looked them over today and
i looked them over today and they looked fine (all together) i did notice some lubricant coming from the front and rear of the rear diff.

after i looked at it further,
after i looked at it further, i now know the leak of gear lube is coming from the front of the diff. housing and maybe the side. i filled it full of gear lube and tried it, moved about 3 feet and heard a small quiet popping noise once and every time i move about the same distance, more pops. i didnt try to move it very far from fear of causing more damage but im pretty sure i need new bearings and seals. let me know ur opinion.
pull the cover off it and
pull the cover off it and check the color of fluid and look for any signs of metal filings. you'll see the ring gear, check the teeth on it for chips or very sharp edges on teeth. i repair about 2 a mo.chrysler says no problem thou. do you have any warrenty left? we're still doing 01's under warrenty so, it might be worth looking into? that's if you even have a rearend problem. let us know. mws919

no warranty so its all out of pocket expense, the fluid was dark like used motor oil and had a burnt smell to it like the metals got hot from lack of lube, just hope it dont cost an arm and a leg

i'd call chrysler any way, i've seen a lot of people get some help from them even out of warrenty, it can only help not hurt.
