my check engine light has come on my 2005 escape and its sputters about 45 mph on a read out it says prim\secondary coil B but ive replaced it and put new plugs in and fuel filter and its still comes back on after I clear it and reads coil B.

the primary side fo the coil

the primary side fo the coil is where the power wire connects to the coil.
the secondary side of the coil is where the spark plugs into the coil.
the primary voltage comes from the ignition switch and loads up the coil with voltage, when the voltage is shut off, by the computer removing the ground from the circuit, all the built up voltage in the coil flows out to the spark plug.
so what you have to do frist is check that the coil has power with the key on, and a pluse ground from the computer when the engin is cranking.
do you have a 12 volt test light to connect to the wires going to the coil?

I think so it has a pos. and

I think so it has a pos. and neg wire and different lights with different volts i've also found a new trailer 12 volt light can i use it?

if you connect the test light

if you connect the test light to the 2 coil wires and crank the engin the light should flash.
disconnect the other coils while doing this so the engin will not start.

I disconnected coil wires and

I disconnected coil wires and cranked the engine and my light doesnt come on I even tested other coil wires and they dont come on but the light comes on when i test batt
When I hook pos to pos.on coil wire and neg. to batt. and turn switch on it lights up that is on test light one wire on coil one wire and test ground to batt

can someone please help

can someone please help thanks:(

connect the test light to the

connect the test light to the light green with white trace wire at coil connector to the batt. pos. term. and crank the engin, it should flash.

I hooked green and white wire

I hooked green and white wire to test light and pos. side of batt and it didnt flash, i checked on some of the other 2 colored wires and they dont either

does it stsrt and just

does it stsrt and just misfire in one cylinder?

yes it starts right up but

yes it starts right up but sounds like apop through throtle body and it sputters at little at about 40mph but if i give it more gas it picks up or if i let up it will smooth out

i donn't understand how it

i donn't understand how it doesn't have flashing light on the other coils you tested.
with it running, disconnect the coil connector, if the idle drops and it runs real shakey, the coil is working, if the idle doesn't change, swap that coil with another one and preform the disconnect again.
if unplugging that cylinder still causes no change in idle, you'll have to check injector circuit and cylinder compression.
injectors can be tested the same way as the coils, or just swap it to another cylinder.

The check engine light came

The check engine light came on for a reason. Go to Auto Zone and have the code read, and then post the actual error code number. What you posted was a description of the code. We can help you better, and give you more accurate repair information if we know the code number.

the code is reading P0352

the code is reading P0352 thank you friend for your time. is cyl.1=A and cyl.2=B ect. or they in diff. order?

i can send you the diag. flow

i can send you the diag. flow chart for that code, it will help you understand the tests, i've asked you to preform, just need a email ad.
let me know.

There's a TSB out for the

There's a TSB out for the problem you are describing. TSB means Technical Service Bulletin. It's not a recall. It's just a special repair procedure for fixing a unique problem with a certain vehicle. See a Ford dealer for the TSB> The number of the TSB is below.

10-18-10

Either the wiring to the COP

Either the wiring to the COP (coil-on-plug) or the coil driver circuit in the PCM is bad.

the Pcm is located on the Firewall, engine side. The dealer has special diagnostic software to test the COP drivers.

Firewall, engine side. Yes, the dealer has special diagnostic software to test the COP drivers.

**** There is also a TSB which says that certain spark plugs can cause problems with the PCM.

MIL ON WITH MULTIPLE COIL PRIMARY CIRCUIT
DTCS P0351 THROUGH P0356 - 3.0L ENGINE

FORD:
2005 Escape

MERCURY:
2005 Mariner

ISSUE
Some 2005 Escape/Mariner vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine, may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on with two or more diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for coil on plug (COP) primary circuit faults (P0351 through P0356). This may be due to the spark plugs causing RF interference with the PCM, resulting in damage to the PCM and COPs.

ACTION
It may be necessary to replace the PCM, COPs and install new level spark plugs. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Perform KOER test.

a. If there is only one (1) coil circuit primary DTC (P035x) follow procedure "A".

b. If there are two (2) or more coil circuit primary DTCs (P035x-P035x) follow procedure "B".

PROCEDURE "A"
1. Remove any spark plug and inspect for a 2-digit date code. If the date code is not present, replace all six (6) spark plugs with part number AGSF-32W-M1F4.

2. Continue with normal PC/ED diagnostics for the DTC.

PROCEDURE "B"
1. Remove any spark plug and inspect for a 2-digit date code. If the date code is not present, replace all six (6) spark plugs with part number AGSF-32W-M1F4.

2. Replace all six (6) COPs.

3. Replace PCM.

4. Reprogram the passive antitheft system (PATS) keys.
