my wife was driving the car ,its a 1996 Buick regal 3.1.it came out or gear. it wont go in forward or reverse,the fluid is full +the elect and vacuum lines are hooked up.could it be the transmission filter?

don't think the filter would
don't think the filter would cause that - how many miles on it? will it shift to neutal? may be time for a new transmission but check the linkage and see if its binding.

it shifts in every gear,it looks like the linkage is secure,i had it towed home and tryed moving it.it moved in foward and reverse,but was makeing noise.im wondering if its the drive shaft. its full of fluid.

there is a lip seal in the
there is a lip seal in the foward clutch housing that rolls over when cooling down and causes a huydralic leak in that circuit and no movement. gm has put out a bulletin out on it. the only way to fix it is to remove transmission and take it apart.
the worse case ones i've done will need a new clutch pack along with the new seal, some times it's just the $1.00 seal.
