what will happen if you drill a hole in a catalytic converter? my car is still shuttin of and i dont have the money to buy a new one right now...what else can i do?

get it checked to see if its

get it checked to see if its plugged. shops can check it with a heat sensor thermometer and should give a free estimate. if its bad the exhaust can't flow and will damage the engine if you keep driving it. you would have to punch a big hole in it and that wouldn't fix it.

could it also be my coil

could it also be my coil pack? can that cause my car to shut off?

Your computer will not get

Your computer will not get good readings from the O2 sensors, which could lead to decreases fuel mileage and other driveability problems.
Have the catalytic converter checked (to see if it's clogged).
