you say all 3, do you mean
you say all 3, do you mean left, right and 3rd? i ask because the 3rd is on a seperate circuit.
Yes, that is what I meant.
Yes, that is what I meant.
the brake switch has two
the brake switch has two wires that it uses to turn on brake lights. 1 wire goes to the high mount brake light and the other goes to the abs moduel. that signal is then placed on the pci bus"data line"and is used by any other moduel that needs to know if the brakes are applyed. here is the switch connector term. lay out.
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH - GRAY 6 WAY CAV CIRCUIT FUNCTION
1 K29 20WT/PK BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL
2 Z241 20BK (2.7L MTX) GROUND
2 Z241 20BK/LG (EXCEPT 2.7L MTX) GROUND
3 V32 20YL/RD S/C SUPPLY
4 V30 20DB/RD SPEED CONTROL BRAKE SWITCH OUTPUT
5 L50 16WT/TN BRAKE LAMP SWITCH OUTPUT

#5 term. is the one powering the 3rd brk. light. #6 is power comming in, and is the one you need power on. if not check fuse #5 in junction and fuse #11 in the power distribution center. junction is under dash and pdc is under hood. now check #5 and 6 circuits and let me know what you have or do not have.
i have put 2 switches and
i have put 2 switches and found the same sesult then went to the powerout line and gave power to the light and blew more than one fuse. checked for good dround and there was then found the corect contact for the bulb for break light and got ground there. so direct ground at both ends, switch and plug with no bulb indecates short in line to me what bout you. after taking it to a reputable shop here they found no broblem except switch. any input would great.
when you test light checked a
when you test light checked a circuit, it blew a fuse? and on what side of the bulb socket are you checking? power for the bulbs comes from the front control moduel and will only be there when requested by body control moduel. it would not blow any fuse if checked at term #6. this may be a dealer repair. so start off with only ok'ing one hour of labor time, and then see what they come up with.
