1991 toyota corolla carburetor back fire when i turn on the A/C for long. It also consume much fuel. How can i fix these problems?

with the engine running look

with the engine running look at the a/c compressor to be sure its' not starting to lock-up causing the belt to slip--which puts more of a load on the engine (not likely but worth check as a first step).

If you have the ignition system checked and there are no problems have the a/c checked to be sure it is operating properly (possible liquid in compressor). Remeber the a/c compressor operates when you turn the a/c on and when you turn the defrost on (so it can still cause this problem even in winter).
