1997 Infiniti Q45 - Torque specs: Water Pump bolts, Alternator bolts.

look in paper work that came with new pump,or consult specific year/engine model specs in chiltons/alldata some require sealer on treads due to alluminum/corosion generally a steel 3/8 bolt will hold 15 lbs.but depends on grade of bolt material threading into ,length. this is true for all applications, on water pumps it is important to torque equally across side to side top to bottom to insure a eqaul gasket crush and avoid leaks/redoo especially on later models with o-ring type captive gaskets with dissimilar materials!!when at all posssible consult repair manual for you year/make/model.
