Using a scan tool, check the transmission scan data for the input shaft (turbine) and output shaft RPM. The Input Shaft (turbine) Speed Sensor should match the engine RPM if the transmission is in neutral. The Output Shaft Speed Sensor should gradually rise from 0 RPM as the vehicle speed is increased. If either sensor is not reading accurately, disconnect the connector from the speed sensors and measure the resistance of each sensor. A good sensor should measure less than 800 ohms. Verify that the wires from the input or output shaft speed sensors are not damaged. If the resistance of the sensor is more than 800 ohms, replace the sensor(s).
