Support the outer end of the
Support the outer end of the driveshaft assembly. Insert a pry bar between inner tripod joint and transaxle case. Pry against inner tripod joint, until tripod joint retaining snap ring is disengaged from transaxle side gear.

Just my two cents, but I use two small pry bars, one on either side of the inner tripod, usin the transaxle case as a leverage point.
there is also a slide hammer
there is also a slide hammer type puller which can be rented from some parts stores.
The slide hammer works great.
The slide hammer works great. The problem with it is that you only need it for 5 minutes, but you may be forced to rent it for a day. That rental charge could cost you $60.00 or more :-(. If you don't have the two small pry bars that are mentioned, two good size bladed screwdrivers work just as well.
