2000 Galant GTZ. transmission shifts to neutral while driving, lever was not moved. buzzing noise when transmissin is shifted from reverse to drive key on engine not running. car will start shift lever moves but no consol indicator lights on.

First, check the transmission
First, check the transmission fluid (eventhough this seems to be more involved than that).
Have the transmission scanned for computer codes (at a transmission shop). These transmissions are controlled by electric solenoids which energize in order to shift it from gear to gear. that buzzing noise may be coming from on of these. I there is a code, it will give the techs and you a place to start diagnosing the vehicle.
