Timmy, "transmission
Timmy,
"transmission overheating what could cause this problem I have checked the fluids"
What engine size?
I assume it is an automatic but is it?
What makes you say that it is overheating? What was the temp? Was it confirmed with a temp. probe?
How long has this been occuring?
How long (drive time from start up) before it occurs?
Is it better or worse under any particular type of driving?
What color is the fluid?
How long has it been since the last fluid exchange (if any)?
Has there been any work done on the trans? If so, what? Again, if so, did the problem occur before or only after the repair?
Do you have any trouble codes? If so, what are they?
Do you tow? If so, what? How heavy?
What is the mileage?
Do you have any kind of aftermarket programer like a Bully Dog?
Since this is an online forum, the more info you can give us, the more info we can give you.
The link below will save me some writing and hopefully help you.

Post back with more info or questions. Thanks.
Timmy, Drivability mentioned
Timmy,
Drivability mentioned haulin. If you are haulin, then tell us in detail about that. Here's just a few questions, but feel free to add more detail if necessary.
What are you haulin?
Is the haul overrated?
Is it a long distance haul?
If so how many miles?
One way haul or round trip haul?
Is the truck setup for long distance haulin?
Is the truck setup for overrated hauling?
Are you SURE it's just the transmission that's overheatin and not the engine? If you're SURE it's just the transmission is overheatin, then tell us in detail how you determined that?
