2006 Hyundai Accent, Timing belt missing some teeth. Easiest way to check if valves are bent without pulling heads Plugs are normal no evidence of piston hitting them

turn it over slowly - do a compression test - check timing marks to see how far off they are.

Did compression check #1

Did compression check #1 cylinder at 145, all others stayed 0. Figured must be valves bent, in trying to loosen first head bolt (8mm allen) rounded bolt out. How do I remove this bolt?

Turn the engine by hand

Turn the engine by hand (using a socket and ratchet), until the piston on one cyliner is on Top Dead Center and perform a cylinder leakage test (this test forces compressed air into the cylinder---where the air escapes the cylinders tells you if the valves (or anything else)are leaking. Do this on each cylinder. May have to take it to a shop for this test.

Compression test is a little risky because the piston could hit the valves as you are spinning it over while performing the test.

You'll need a 1/2 drive

You'll need a 1/2 drive socket (8mm) and a breaker bar. this is a special socket (may have to purchase from snap-on or the dealer) normal sockets might break.
