Advise on 4L60E Trans. Wiring Harness Replacement '94 Chev

Okay I am ready to put in my wiring harness into my 4L60E transmission after changing the shifting solenoids. This is for my 1994 Chevy 4.3L. I have to change the harness cause I broke one of clip holders trying to get the solenoids out. Any advise or tips on installing the harness before I get started?? I am asking now before I goof it up and have to cry about it later??!! Any truth to the rumor of heating up the plastic lightly with a hairdryer to make the clips flexible and avoiding breaks? Any tips helpful, Thanks!

Hello Brokenwrenchhead, The

Hello Brokenwrenchhead,

The first thing is to use the harness as per the TSB. Check with a dealer for the harness part number (as per the TSB). Your right about heat, but not from a hair dryer. You want to pour boiling water on the plastic and boil the clips as well.

Thank You
Helene
