AND ALSO MY STEERING COLUMN IS REAL LOOSE, I CAN STILL TURN THE WHEEL BUT ALSO KIND OF A DRIVING HAZARD! HOW CAN I TIGHTEN IT OR GET IT FIXED? I DONT KNOW IT IT BROKE INSIDE OR IF ITS JUST LOOSE! ( 89 CAMARO RS)

how do you describe loose? is ther play in the wheel or is the column itself loose?

1.remove steering wheel

1.remove steering wheel 2.unplug and remove turnsignal switch,3. look in top side where switch came out remove the torx head bolts and the piece it bolts on remove it .4 look on each side of pivot head for steering column you should see two pins one each side,first you have to take tension off tilt pivot in bottom of piece there is a silver round piece with a hole which looks like a 1/4 inch square like a ratchet or something. 5. take no 2 phillip head screwdriver push down and twist to left this should remove tension spring.6. remove two pins by finding a screw that will fix in holes take aslide hammer and bump them out, when you remove it there are 4 bolt under here remove one at a time clean and use locktite on each screw tighten screws and reverse process to put back together.
