sorry to waste your time. i'm not able to move it until i get gas. i have another automatic tranny and i was told that it'd be easier to just swap them. i'm not a mechanic nor have i ever worked on cars but if i can remove the old one then i got a guy who will put the other transmission in.

WD, When you get a chance

WD,

When you get a chance check to see if any trouble codes are present. You can use this link:

Also double check the fluid level and condition. This is done with the car off.

As far as the "guy" that will put the transmission in:

Is he a qualified technician?
Why is it that he is asking you to remove it?

It's none of my business but I've heard this story before. In many cases the car ends up in pieces and stays that way until it can be towed to a shop. Alot of shops will charge through the roof when they get a bunch of parts in a few buckets and are asked to fix it.

I recommend that the person that takes it apart also puts it back together.Just food for thought.

Let us know on the codes and the fluid. Thanks.

heh heh. i see what you meant

heh heh. i see what you meant by 'the car ends up in pieces and stays that way'. i should of taken your advice way back then. i did have the guy that was going to put it back together, decide to take it apart also. but now it's in pieces in my garage with the replacement transmission right next to it. he told me that there was a bolt on the hub that should of been removed first; so in order to remove it now, everything needs to be screwed back together. and he pretty much gave up and hasn't been back since. i guess i had to learn the hard way.

WD, Sorry to hear this is
