Cylinder head removal

Can the rear cylinder head on a 3.1L engine in a 97 Buick skylark be removed without pulling the engine? I haven't been able to get the alternator bracket off to reach the last head bolt. It's the gran sport model. Do you know a trick?

Empapke,

No tricks. Straight forward job. No need to pull the engine. You can't get the alternator bracket off, because you didn't remove the alternator air inlet connector.
