Does the end casing of the transmission just slip off? This is for a 2000 Chevy Silverado. The back end of the transmission casing is broke and I want to replace it with another end.

yes on a 2wd, it just carries
yes on a 2wd, it just carries the drive shavt bushing and speedo gear housing. 4 bolts and it comes right off, large square "o" ring seal.
