Kolbrick, I'm a retired electrician. I also would like to hear how the alternator was tested? Just saying that they tested it is not good enough. Also is this the original alternator or is it a rebuilt or remanufactured unit? The light could be on because it's the wrong amperage alternator for your van. Check with a dealer to see what the correct amperage for your year and engine size is then compare both the amperage values of both alternators. Do you have one of those killer sound systems installed in your van that can be heard from 10 miles away? If you do are the amps just high fidelity power amps or are they sub-woofer amps? Regardless of what they are how many amps are there? Do you have one or mor capacitors installed for the amps? Finally did you know that an alternator can still check out good with just one partially failing diode out of the entire diode pack? You really should have the alternator checked at a few different places to see if the results all come back the same. Another thing to consider is that a test is only as good as the skills of the individual doing the test. There are techs and then there are techs if you can understand what I mean.
