have 1990 mitsubishi montero brake lights not working tail lights work just not brake lights? and yes i checked fuses tooo :) if im being a girl thats cuz i am lol someone told me there might be a switch some where under brake pedal i dont see one

it should be one under there it may be outta of adjustment or just bad did it fall off :) since you dont see it?

The brake light switch is located in front of the brake pedal "arm" (the metal part whic holds the brake pedal) about halfway up. you'll have to get under the dash (drivers' side of course) to see it. If it had fell off, your brake lights would be on all of the time. Anyway, once located, check forpower getting to one of the wires connected to it. Two wires should have power when the brakes are applied. If this is OK. Check for power and a ground at the brake light sockets. let us know how it goes and if necessary we'll help you further.

oh where o where has my help gone :) ok have power goin to switch but cant find any coming out of it so on way to pick up new one :)

grrr grr grr ok further adventures :) got out old switch after buying new one put it on continuity tester and surprise it works lol but no lights yet grrr grrrr

did you check the brake bulbs? you be surprised how often this happens.

haha i might be a girl but not a blonde one ;) when all else fails and before i got really mad i discussed it with my dad he wiggled a few wires and PRESTO brake lights work lmao
now how come you guys didnt know that trick??
