How do I replace the clutch in a 1996 Ford Mustang V6? I know I have to remove the transmission as I have done an automatic before but never a manual transmission. Any pointers? I am told it is not hard at all.

disconnect neg battery cable

disconnect neg battery cable - lift clutch pedal to upper most position to disegage the pawl and quadrant - push quadrant forward, unhook cable and allow quadrant to slowly swing rearward - raise and support vehicle - remove dust shield - disconnect cable from release lever - remove rhe retaining clip and remove cable from flywheel housing - remove the starter - remove transmission, then flywheel housing - remove clutch release lever boot - remove clutch release lver from housing by pulling it the window in the housing until retainer spring is diengaged from pivot - remove release bearing from lever - loosen pressure plate attaching bolts evenly to so that pressure plate is not damaged - if same plate is to be reinstalled mark cover and flywheel so the plate is in the same location - ispect flywhhel for scoring or cracks - inspect pilot beaing for damage - install in reverse order - good idea to have a manual or use alldatadiy.com for step by step info and pics
