how to bleed clutch ??

How do I bleed the hydraulic system on the clutch of a 1993 chevy pickup c1500 6cyl.? The car has a manual transmission.

yeah i replaced the clutch it

yeah i replaced the clutch it was trashed and it only goes into gears when its off i mean the motor off it engages when on wont//

You bleed a clutch the same way you bleed brakes. In my opinion usin a power bleeder is better than the two man method. A power bleeder is more effective at gettin rid of the stubborn air that can trap itself and hide itself in a hydraulic clutch system. It's not very expensive and it's a worthwhile tool to have, especially if you do alot of your own repairs. Here's a link.

You said the clutch will only engage when the engine is off, then you said you replaced the clutch because it was trashed. Well the clutch may not be engaging when the engine is runnin because:

You failed to state if you replaced the pressure plate?

You failed to state if you replaced the throw out bearing?

You failed to state if you resurfaced or replaced the flywheel?
