REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
Note: Do not disassemble upper intake manifold from lower intake manifold unless replacement of one of the components is necessary.
Fuel injector sight shield and air intake duct.
Spark Plug Wiring Harness (Rear)
Spark Plug Wiring Harness (Front)
Spark plug wires on right side of engine and set aside.
Fuel rail.
Exhaust heat shield.
Throttle Cable Bracket To Throttle Body
Cable bracket to cylinder head mounting bolt.
Upper And Lower Intake Manifold Assembly
Upper intake manifold bolts and upper manifold.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

Protecting Intake Ports From Debris
Lower manifold intake ports should be plugged using clean shop towels before cleaning sealer off mating surfaces.
Mating surfaces should not be scraped, sanded or wire brushed in order to remove old sealer. Old sealer should be removed chemically by using any of the various chemical gasket removers available.
Applying Sealant
Apply a 1/16 inch bead of Loctite Instant Gasket Eliminator GM P/N 1052942 or equivalent to lower manifold mating surface. Make sure to circle all bolt holes.
Lower upper intake onto lower intake carefully.
Upper And Lower Intake Manifold Assembly
Tighten upper manifold bolts to 15 Nm (11 lbs. ft.).
Throttle Cable Bracket To Throttle Body
Cable bracket to cylinder head mounting bolt.
Exhaust heat shield.
Fuel rail.
Spark Plug Wiring Harness (Rear)
Spark Plug Wiring Harness (Front)
Spark plug wires.
Fuel injector sight shield and air intake duct.

In the business of auto repair and mechanics (MORE TIMES THAN NOT) a problem gets (MISDIAGONISED).
We might be able to save (MUCH) wasted time and (MONEY) if you tell us:
Exactly what the problem is?
What tests were done?
How it was (DETERMINED) that the gasket is at (FAULT)?
Disconnect the negative
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain some coolant from radiator (drain plug at bottom of radiator).
Remove the intake air snorkle.
Disconnect IAC and TPS electrical connectors at throttle of intake.
Remove throttle and transmission "kickdown" cable from left side of manifold.
Remove bolts from ignition coil pack (2 located in front of coil pack and 2 located in the back of the coil pack).
Remove the MAP sensor located on the left back side of the upper intake manifold (2 small bolts and a vacuum line).
Disconnect any vacuum line still attached.
Remove upper intake bolts.
Remove upper intake.
