How to remove caliper to replace rear brake pads on 2002 Buick LeSabre custom & do I need special tool to compress the piston?

To remove the caliper it

To remove the caliper it SHOULD only be to bolts holding it on.
Needing a "special tool" no. I have always used a "C" clamp and an 1/4" wide piece of wood to compress the piston. You can go to Auto Zone and they will have the "Special tool" that you can rent, as long as you return it you will get your $55.00 deposit back.
As long as you have some standard tools the job should be fairly simple.

Thanks for the reply. There

Thanks for the reply. There are 2 bolts but only one of them has a hex head the other is a plain head thus it cannot be removed. My limited research suggest that I should remove the one bolt and pivot the caliper with the other in place. Then I should be able to remove the pads. If you have any thoughts on this I would appreciate hearing about them. Thanks again
