Welcome to 10w40.com. Disconnect the negative and positive from battery terminals which requires tools to loosen the terminals. You need pair of pliers or wrench to loosen screws to take off terminals. If your terminals are corroding then I suggest replacing the terminals as well which is less than ten dollars for the pair. Now just put new battery in a secure cables by tightening your battery terminals.
